Radiator, Engine Cooling: Removal: Diesel

  1. Disconnect the negative cable battery.
  2. Remove the cooling fans. Refer to FAN, COOLING, REMOVAL .

  3. Using the (special tool #10288, Pliers, Hose Clamp), unlock the clamp and remove the radiator overflow hose from radiator (1).

  4. Release locking clip and remove the lower radiator hose (1) from the radiator.

  5. Remove the fasteners (2) and the radiator shield (1).

  6. Disengage the right retaining tabs (4) that secure the A/C condenser (3) to the radiator.
  7. Disengage the left retaining tabs (2) that secure the A/C condenser (3) to the radiator.
  8. Lift the condenser upward to disengage the lower mounting tab (1) and position aside the condenser.
  9. Remove the Charge Air Cooler (CAC). Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, REMOVAL .
  10. Lift up on radiator and remove from vehicle.
