Section 17 (Charging System (Service Information)): Generator: Installation: 2.4L

- Install the generator to the engine block. Tighten the bolts to the proper specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the positive cable to the rear of the generator stud. Tighten the nut to the proper specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the field generator harness connector.
- Reposition the A/C compressor to its upright installed position and tighten the inner A/C compressor mounting bolt (2) to the proper specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the A/C compressor forward mounting bolts (1). Tighten to the proper specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
- Install the engine cover.
