Removal And Installation: Installation

- Check that the rain sensor/dusk sensor is not damaged.
- Avoid touching the sensitive surface of the sensor.
- Avoid the sensitive surface of the sensor coming into contact with dirt or fluids.
- Clean the housing for the sensor in the windscreen thoroughly. Use a degreasing product.
- Place the sensor in position.
- Position the retaining clip for the sensor and attach the side hooks.
- Connect the light rain sensor wiring harness connector.
- Carefully align the two mirror covers to the mirror.
- Carefully snap the two mirror covers (2) together. Be certain all of the retaining tabs are fully engaged.
- Connect the negative battery terminal.
NOTE:
The layer of silicone material is protected by a film that is removed when the component is installed. Avoid touching with your hands to prevent damage to the silicone. Because it is not possible to disconnect and reconnect the part without damaging the silicone layer, the sensor should be replaced if the windscreen is replaced.
NOTE:
If a new component is installed, check that no air bubbles remain between the glass and sensor; apply a load of at least 50 N to ensure that any bubbles are eliminated.
