3.0L Diesel

- Clean and inspect the threads in the cylinder block and heater element.
- Coat heater element threads with Loctite® 572 thread sealer.
- Screw engine block heater (1) into engine block and tighten to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
- Connect block heater power cord (3).
- Fill cooling system with recommended coolant. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Start and warm the engine.
- Check block heater for leaks.
