Right Hand Drive: Removal

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to align the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU. Follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Release the retainers (1a) with a suitable tool, remove the side trim (1b) and remove the fastener (1c).
  3. Remove the lower fasteners (2).

  4. Open the glove compartment (1a) and remove the upper fasteners (1b).

  5. Remove the glove box assembly from the dashboard (1a) by releasing the retainers (1b).

  6. Disconnect the BCM wire harness connectors (1) from the front of the BCM.

  7. Using a suitable tool, release the retainer (1a) and then release the pin (1b) from the bracket (1c).
  8. Turn the BCM (2a), release the retainers (2b) and move the BCM to access the rear connectors.

  9. Disconnect the BCM wire harness connectors (1) from the back of the BCM (2).
  10. Remove the BCM from the vehicle.
