Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Position and install the cam position sensor into place, then install and tighten the nut to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. 
  2. Connect the cam position sensor electrical connection.
  3. Position the heat shield, then install and tighten the nut to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. 
  4. Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION.
  5. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  6. When replacing the cam position sensor, connect the diagnostic scan tool, enter "Active Diagnosis" and run the self-learning procedure.
