Sentry Key Immobilizer System Initialization
The Sentry Key Immobilizer System (SKIS) must be initialized following the service replacement of a Body Control Module (BCM), a Radio Frequency Hub (RFH), a Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or an Electronic Steering Lock (ESL). SKIS initialization requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool. Initialization will also require that you have security access and a temporary authorization Personal Identification Number (PIN) code. The PIN code MUST be used to enter the Secured Access Mode. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE . This procedure will require you to log into DealerCONNECT and enter a PIN when requested. The PIN is temporary and will be active for 12 hours. After 12 hours, a new PIN will need to be obtained from DealerCONNECT.
If the BCM is replaced in a vehicle equipped with the SKIS, the unique Secret Key data must be transferred from the RF-Hub to the new BCM using the appropriate programming procedure. This procedure also requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool to enter the Secured Access Mode in the RF-Hub.
If the electronic shaft lock module is replaced in a vehicle equipped with the SKIS, the unique Secret Key data must be transferred from the BCM to the new electronic shaft lock module using the appropriate programming procedure. This procedure also requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool to enter the Secured Access Mode in the BCM.
If the PCM is replaced in a vehicle equipped with the SKIS, the unique Secret Key data must be transferred from the BCM to the new PCM using the appropriate programming procedure. This procedure also requires the use of a diagnostic scan tool to enter the Secured Access Mode in the BCM.
