Sensor, Exhaust Temperature: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the 10 push pin fasteners (1) and the radiator closeout panel (2).

  3. Disconnect the exhaust gas temperature sensor wire harness connector (3).
  4. Detach the two wire harness retainers (1, 2).

  5. Remove the two nuts (1) securing the exhaust temperature sensor module (1).

  6. Open the wire harness retainers (2) and remove the wire harness (1).
  7. Remove the belly pan. Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .

  8. Remove downstream exhaust gas temperature sensor (2) from the catalytic converter.
  9. Remove the upstream exhaust gas temperature sensor (1) from the catalytic converter.
  10. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  11. Remove the exhaust gas temperature sensors with the module from the vehicle.
