Engine Block: FLEXPLATE: Removal

  1. Remove the transmission. Refer to REMOVAL .
  2. Install the (special tool #10272, Tool, Flywheel Locking) (1).
  3. Remove the bolts (2a) and remove the flexplate (2b).
    CAUTION:

    Do not use an impact socket or a thick walled socket when removing or installing the flexplate retaining bolts, damage to the crankshaft, internal engine or the transmission may occur.

  4. Using a suitable tool clean all sealant from the bolt holes.
