Manifold, Intake: Installation

1. If removed, install the side engine cover rubber isolators (1).

2. If removed, install the EVAP solenoid valve and OBD vent valve mounting brackets (2) and securely tighten the screws (1).

3. If removed, install the mounting bracket (1) and securely tighten the nuts (2).

4. If removed, install the heat shield (2) with the push-nuts (1).

5. If removed, install the fuel vapor pipe in position and tighten the band clamp (1).

6. If the throttle body was removed, install a new throttle body gasket (1).

7. If removed, install the throttle body (2) and tighten the bolts (1) in a crisscross pattern to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).

8. Install new seals (1) on the intake manifold.

9. Install the intake manifold (1) into position, connect the coolant outlet pipe to the throttle body and tighten the band clamp (2).

10. Install the intake manifold bolts and tighten in the sequence shown in illustration to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).

11. Move the right side of the engine rearward back into its proper position.
12. Install the three right engine mount isolator to bracket bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).

13. Connect the quick connector of the coolant return pipe (1) to the charge air cooler and engage the retaining clip.

14. Install the Y-fitting (2) to the charge air cooler and engage the retaining clip.
15. Install and securely tighten the bolt (1).

16. Connect the quick connector of the coolant supply pipe (1) to the Y-fitting (2) and engage the retaining clip.

17. Connect the coolant supply pipe (2) to the throttle body and tighten the band clamp (1).

18. Connect the electrical connection (1) to the charge air cooler coolant temperature sensor.
19. Engage the wire harness retainers (2).

20. Connect the electrical connection (1) to the throttle body (2).
21. Install the intake Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor. Refer to SENSOR, CAMSHAFT POSITION, INSTALLATION .
22. Install the Temperature and Manifold Air Pressure (TMAP) sensor. Refer to SENSOR, TMAP-INTAKE MANIFOLD, INSTALLATION .
23. Install the EVAP purge solenoid and the OBD vent valve. Refer to SOLENOID, EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS PURGE, INSTALLATION .
24. Install the EGR valve. Refer to VALVE, EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR), INSTALLATION .
25. Install the air outlet pipe from the turbocharger to the throttle body. Refer to COOLER AND HOSES, CHARGE AIR, INSTALLATION .
26. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to INSTALLATION  .
27. Install the side and top engine covers. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, INSTALLATION .
28. Fill the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM FILL 2.0L GMET4 .
29. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
30. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
