Hinge, Liftgate: Removal

NOTE:

It is not necessary to remove the liftgate to replace one or both hinges. The hinges can be replaced one at a time.

Position the rear of the headliner down as necessary to gain access to the hinge fasteners. Refer to HEADLINER, REMOVAL .
Using a grease pencil or equivalent, mark the position of the liftgate hinge (2) on the body and liftgate to aid in installation.
With the help of an assistant, support the liftgate and remove the liftgate hinge fasteners (1).

Carefully lower the rear of the headliner and remove the liftgate hinge to body fasteners (1).
Remove the liftgate hinge.
