DECKLID/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate/Swing Gate: Liftgate: Adjustments: In/Out

NOTE:

A suitable body sealant should be used between the hinge and the body surface when removing or moving the hinges. Sealant should be applied within 30 minutes of final tightening of the hinge fasteners.

Using a trim stick or equivalent, remove the upper rear headliner trim.
For the upper liftgate adjustments, loosen the hinge to header fasteners (1) and adjust to specifications. Refer to GAP AND FLUSH, SPECIFICATIONS .
Tighten the hinge fasteners to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

For the lower liftgate adjustments, loosen the striker fasteners (1) and adjust to specifications. Refer to GAP AND FLUSH, SPECIFICATIONS .
Tighten the striker fasteners to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Position the upper rear headliner trim and seat fully.
