DECKLID/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate/Swing Gate: Liftgate: Installation
NOTE:
With assistance, support the liftgate while the hinges are being installed.
NOTE:
A suitable body sealant should be used when removing or moving the hinges.
- Position the liftgate to the vehicle.
- Install the hinge to liftgate fasteners (1) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the support struts. Refer to PROP, GAS, LIFTGATE, INSTALLATION .
- Position the liftgate harness back into the liftgate header panel.
- Connect wiring harnesses connector(s) (2) and washer hose.
- Check and adjust the liftgate if necessary. Refer to GAP AND FLUSH, SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the headliner and upper quarter trim panels. Refer to PANEL, QUARTER TRIM, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
