Console, Overhead, Front: Description
Vehicles equipped with a power sunroof have a power sunroof switch (3) integral to the overhead console (1) located in the headliner just forward of the sunroof opening. The switch buttons are centered between the two map/reading lamps (4), forward of the sunglasses storage bin (5) and, if equipped, rearward of the universal transmitter (Homelink®) push buttons (2). This switch has three momentary push buttons clearly identified by either text or icons indicating their functions. The three functions are from front-to-back: AUTO (CLOSE), VENT and AUTO (OPEN). The switch push buttons also have instrument panel dimmer controlled Light Emitting Diode (LED) units that provide backlighting for visibility at night.
The power sunroof switch is connected to the vehicle electrical system through the printed circuit board of the overhead console, which is connected to a dedicated take out and connector of the overhead wire harness. If the switch is ineffective or damaged, the entire overhead console must be replaced.
