Sensor, Wheel Speed, Front: Installation

NOTE:

Before proceeding. Refer to CAUTION or WARNING .

  1. Install the wheel speed sensor head (4) into the knuckle. Install the front wheel speed sensor bolt (5) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
    CAUTION:

    Failure to install speed sensor cables properly may result in contact with moving parts or an over extension of cables causing an open circuit. Be sure that cables are installed, routed, and clipped properly.

  2. Connect the wheel speed sensor to the harness connector.
  3. Secure the harness routing clips (1, 2).
  4. Connect the sensor harness to the strut bracket (3).
  5. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
  7. Perform the diagnostic verification test and clear any faults. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
