Lower Intake Manifold

  1. Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces, the gaskets may be reused if no issues are found. Install the lower intake manifold to cylinder head gaskets (1).
  2. If removed, install the fuel injectors and the fuel rail to the lower intake manifold. Refer to 3.2L .

  3. Position the lower intake manifold (1) on the cylinder head surfaces.
  4. Tighten the bolts to the proper in the sequence shown in illustration. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).

  5. Engage the main wire harness retainer (2) to the rear of the lower intake manifold.
  6. Engage the injection/ignition harness retainer (1) to the rear of the lower intake manifold.

  7. Connect the fuel injector harness connectors (1).
  8. Connect the fuel supply hose (2) to the fuel rail. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM/FUEL DELIVERY/FITTING, QUICK CONNECT - STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  9. Install the insulator (2) to the two alignment posts (3) on top of the LH cylinder head cover.
  10. Install the upper intake manifold, support brackets and resonator. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, INSTALLATION .
  11. Start the engine and check for leaks.
