Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    NOTE:

    This fault indicates that the Speed Control Switch is stuck in a pressed state for two minutes.

    1. Cycle the ignition off, and back on.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Is the DTC still active after cycling the ignition off and on?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Speed Control Switch in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  2
  2. CHECK THE SPEED CONTROL SWITCH FOR PROPER OPERATION 
    1. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    2. Press and release the ON/OFF button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.
    3. Press and release the CANCEL button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.
    4. Press and release the SET - button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.
    5. Press and release the SET + button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.
    6. Press and release the RESUME button. Monitor the scan tool for a minimum of two minutes for the DTC to return before continuing.

      Did the DTC return after any of the button presses?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Speed Control Switch in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
