Manifold, Intake: Installation
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- If removed, install the silencer pad (2) into the intake manifold.
- If removed, install the Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor (3) to the intake manifold.
- If removed, install the fuel rail (4) and fuel injectors to the intake manifold. Refer to RAIL, FUEL, INSTALLATION .
- If removed, install the purge control valve (1) to the fuel rail.
- Install four new intake manifold gasket seals (1).
- Position the silencer pad (1) over the water pump inlet tube.
- Position the intake manifold (1) onto the two studs.
- Install the intake manifold with two nuts (3) and three bolts (2) tightened to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
- Install the intake manifold silencer cover (1) and tighten the four screws (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
- Engage the PTU vent hose retainer (1) to the intake manifold.
- Connect and lock the MAP sensor wire harness connector (2).
- Disengage the two wire harness retainers (1) to the intake manifold.
- Position the PVC hose (1) and the purge hose (4) on the engine as an assembly.
- Connect the PVC hose (1) to the PCV valve on the cylinder head cover and the intake manifold near the throttle body.
- Connect the purge hose (4) to the purge control valve (2) and the intake manifold near the throttle body.
- Connect and lock the purge control valve wire harness connector (3).
- Connect and lock the four VVAA solenoid wire harness connectors (2).
- Connect and lock the four fuel injector wire harness connectors (1).
- Install a new throttle body gasket seal (1) in the intake manifold.
- Install throttle body (1) with four bolts (2), tightened in a criss-cross pattern to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
- Connect and lock the wire harness connector (3) to the throttle body (1).
- Install the injector silencer pad (1).
- Engage the wire harness connector support bracket (4) to the fuel rail.
- Connect the fuel line (1) to the fuel rail
Refer to FUEL SYSTEM/FUEL DELIVERY/FITTING, QUICK CONNECT/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the purge vapor line (2) to the purge control valve. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM/FUEL DELIVERY/FITTING, QUICK CONNECT/STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect and lock the wire harness connector (3) to the oil temperature sensor.
- Move the right side of the engine rearward back into its proper position.
- Install the two right engine mount to frame rail bolts (1).
- Install the right engine mount to strut tower bolt (2).
- Tighten the right engine mount to strut tower bolt (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
- Tighten the two right engine mount to frame rail bolts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
- Install the air cleaner body mounting bracket (1) to the right frame rail and tighten the nuts (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Install the intake manifold lower support bracket (2) with two nuts (1) and one bolt (3) tightened to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
- Install a new gasket (5) and loosely install the cross-under pipe to catalytic converter outlet flange nuts (4).
- Loosely install the cross-under pipe support bolt (3).
- Tighten the cross-under pipe flange nuts to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
- Tighten the cross-under pipe support bolt to the proper torque specification. Refer to (TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS ).
- Install the belly pan, if removed.
- Install the front and rear skid plates, if removed.
- Install the air cleaner body, clean air hose and resonator. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Install the cowl plenum panel and cowl plenum extension. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
- Install the engine cover. Refer to INSTALLATION .
