Removal And Installation: Installation
- Install the steering gear as needed. Refer to GEAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the lower control arms. Refer to ARM, LOWER CONTROL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Using a suitable lifting device, install the crossmember (1) and install the bolts (2, 3).
- Using the marks made previously during removal, line up the crossmember with the rear marks (1).
- Using the marks made previously during removal, line up the crossmember with the front marks (1).
- Tighten the rear bolts (3) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the front four bolts (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the bolts (1) attaching the exhaust hangers (2) to the crossmember and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Position the mount (3) back into place and install the bolt (1).
- Tighten the bolts (1, 2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Position the sway bar back and install the bolts (2).
- Tighten the bolts (2) to the proper torque specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

- Connect the sway bar link (2) back onto the sway bar and install the two nuts (1).
- Tighten the two nuts (1) to the proper torque specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
.WARNING:
Verify the lower control arm ball joint stud is fully inserted into knuckle before pinch bolt is inserted into knuckle. Only ball joint stud rubber boot should be visible below the knuckle; stud should not be visible. Failure to fully and properly insert ball joint stud could lead to wheel separation and loss of mobility and could result in personal injury or death.
- Connect the lower control arm ball joints (2) to the spindles and install the bolts (1).
- Tighten the bolts to the proper torque specification. Refer to FRONT, TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the front load beams. Refer to LOAD BEAM, LOWER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the Electric Power Steering (EPS) module wire harness connectors.
- Install the intermediate shaft (2) to the steering gear.
- Install a NEW intermediate shaft pinch bolt (1) and tighten to the proper torque specification. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
