Engine Oil Level Check
NOTE:
The engine must be HOT when checking the oil level.
The best time to check the engine oil level is after the engine is at operating temperature. Shut off engine for at least 5 minutes before checking the oil level.
Remove the dipstick (1).
Checking the oil level while the vehicle is on level ground will improve the accuracy of the oil level reading. Add oil only when the indicated level is below the SAFE range (2). If the oil level is within the safe range (2), do not add oil.
CAUTION:
Do not operate engine if the oil level is above the MAX mark on the dipstick. Excessive oil volume can cause oil aeration which can lead to engine failure due to loss of oil pressure or increase in oil temperature.
