The fuel supply system provides fuel at the correct operating pressure to the injector assembly.

OPERATION 

The fuel pump is controlled by the Engine Management Module through a special supply relay.

The fuel filter is fitted inside the pump unit and does not require maintenance.

A maximum pressure regulator is built into the pump unit between the pump and the supply pipe; this ensures fuel recirculation for safety reasons if the pressure exceeds 6.9 -9.8 bar (100 - 142 psi).

A fuel level sensor is also fitted in the pump unit; this is connected directly to the Body Computer Module.

The fuel supply pipe connects the tank with the injector-carrier rail; the pipe is connected through quick couplings.

The injector rail ensures the supply of fuel to the injectors and is made from metal for turbocharged versions:
