Coil Spring

REMOVAL 

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

    1 - Electric Parking Brake (EPB) Actuator Harness Bracket Bolt
  3. Remove the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) actuator harness bracket bolt.
  4. Remove the brake caliper from the caliper adapter. Refer to CALIPER, DISC BRAKE, REAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Disengage the EPB actuator wire harness routing clips.

    1 - Spring Link Outer Bolt and Nut
  6. Support the spring link with a suitable jack.
  7. Remove the spring link outer bolt and nut.
  8. Carefully lower the jack and remove the spring with the upper and lower isolators.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.

During installation torque the following fasteners to specification:

Spring Link Outer Bolt 185 N. m (136 Ft. Lbs.)  Fastener must be torqued with the vehicle at normal ride height.
NOTE:

In any instance where a bolt is through a rubber bushing, the bolt must be torqued with the vehicle at normal ride height.
