Radiator Cap Inspection
1 - Vent Valve
2 - O-ring
3 - Main Spring
4 - O-ring
Inspect the radiator cap for the following:
- The vent valve rubber gasket becomes swollen, or foreign particles lodged in the main spring. This will prevent the vent valve from opening. Replace the cap.
- If the O-rings are damaged or swollen. Replace the cap.
- A replacement cap must be the same type that is rated for the cooling system.
