Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.NOTE:
It may be necessary to drive the vehicle to meet the conditions to set this DTC. Try to repeat the conditions in which the fault originally set by reviewing the Freeze Frame data.
Is the DTC active or pending?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK FOR COMMUNICATION DTCS
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
Are there any Communication DTCs active or pending?
Yes
- Perform the applicable diagnostic procedure(s). Refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING .
No
- Go To 3
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
- CHECK FOR INTELLIGENT BATTERY SENSOR CIRCUIT DTCS IN THE BODY CONTROL MODULE
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
Are there any Intelligent Battery Sensor Circuit DTCs set in the Body Control module?
Yes
- Perform the applicable BCM DTC procedure(s). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
No
- Go To 4
- Refer to the recorded DTCs.
- CHECK THAT THE CORRECT BATTERY IS INSTALLED
- Verify that the correct battery is installed in the vehicle.
Is the correct battery installed?
Yes
- Replace the Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Battery in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
- Verify that the correct battery is installed in the vehicle.
