NOTE:

If clutch discs are being replaced, soak in 8HP transmission fluid before assembly.

  1. Replace the clutch C seals (2).
  2. Install clutch C hub (1) onto the clutch C shaft (3).

  3. Install the clutch C backing plate (1).

  4. Install six clutch C friction and steel clutch plates (1).

  5. Install the clutch C wave plate (1).

  9. Place the clutch C (2) in a suitable press.
  10. Using the (special tool #8680A, Installer, Damper) (1) compress clutch C enough to install the snap ring (3).
  11. Install the snap ring (3).
  12. Use the (special tool #8901A, Pressing Tool) and the (special tool #10429, Gauge, Force) to measure the C-clutch clearance.
