Clutch, C: Assembly

NOTE:
If clutch discs are being replaced, soak in 8HP transmission fluid before assembly.
- Replace the clutch C seals (2).
- Install clutch C hub (1) onto the clutch C shaft (3).
- Install the clutch C backing plate (1).
- Install six clutch C friction and steel clutch plates (1).
- Install the clutch C wave plate (1).
- Install the belleville spring (1).
- Install the clutch C piston (1).
- Install the clutch C retainer (1).
- Place the clutch C (2) in a suitable press.
- Using the (special tool #8680A, Installer, Damper) (1) compress clutch C enough to install the snap ring (3).
- Install the snap ring (3).
- Use the (special tool #8901A, Pressing Tool) and the (special tool #10429, Gauge, Force) to measure the C-clutch clearance.
