Removal And Installation: Removal
- Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
- Remove the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the upstream oxygen sensor. Refer to
SENSOR, OXYGEN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Remove the fasteners (1a) and (1b), and the exhaust heat shield (1c).
- Remove the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
.
- Remove the retaining clips (1a) and disconnect the transmission oil cooler line (1b).
- Plug and seal the ends of the transmission cooler and lines to prevent oil leakage and moisture, contaminants, or impurities from entering the system.
- Release the tabs (1a) and remove the pressurized coolant bottle (1b).
- Disconnect the resistor wire harness connector (1a).
- Disconnect the cooling fan wire harness connector (1b).
- Detach the wire harness retainer (1c) from the fan shroud.
- Open the retainers (2b) and detach the cooler lines from the retainer.
- Release the retaining brackets (1a) and remove the cooling fan (1b).
INSTALLATION
- Install the cooling fan (1b) and secure the retaining brackets (1a).
- Attach the cooler lines to the retainer and close the retainer (2b).
- Attach the wire harness retainer (1c) to the fan shroud.
- Connect the cooling fan wire harness connector (1b).
- Connect the resistor wire harness connector (1a).
- Install the pressurized coolant bottle (1b) and secure the tabs (1a).
- Remove the plugs from the transmission cooler and lines.
- Connect the transmission oil cooler lines (1b) and the retaining clips (1a).
- Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

- Install the exhaust heat shield (1c) and securely tighten the fasteners (1a) and (1b).
- Install the upstream oxygen sensor. Refer to SENSOR, OXYGEN, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector.
