Section 2 (2.0L Cooling System): Engine: Thermostat: Installation

CAUTION:
The Thermostat and housing is serviced as an assembly. Do not remove the thermostat from the housing. Damage to the thermostat may occur.
- Clean the thermostat housing mating surfaces.
- Using a NEW
gasket, install the thermostat housing (1) and tighten the screws (2) to the proper specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.
- Install the upper radiator hose (1) on the thermostat housing (2).
- Install the coolant hose (3) on the thermostat housing (2).
- Fill the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM FILL 2.0L GMET4 .
- Install the engine cover. Refer to COVER, ENGINE, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), connect the IBS connector to the negative battery cable.
