Removal And Installation: Left: Notes
REMOVAL
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

1 - Tie Rod End Adjuster Clamp 2 - Tie Rod End Nut 3 - Tie Rod Adjuster Sleeve - Loosen the tie rod end adjuster clamp.NOTE:
Hold the end of the ball stud with a wrench when removing or installing the nuts to prevent damage to the tie rod.
- Remove and DISCARD the tie rod end nut.
- Separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle using (special tool #9360, Remover, Ball Joint).NOTE:
Count the number of turns when removing the tie rod end. This will give a good starting point for reassembly and toe adjustment.
- Rotate the adjuster sleeve to disengage the left tie rod from the right tie rod.NOTE:
The tie rod assembly features an alignment pin, the adjustment sleeve MUST be rotated to "walk" the left tie rod out of the right tie rod.
INSTALLATION
During installation, torque the fasteners to the specifications in the torque table(s) below.
Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle. The steps listed below are calling out specific procedures that should be followed during installation.
- Install a NEW tie rod end nut.
- Set the toe. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
