The status of the Uconnect® Assist soft switch in the radio touchscreen and SOS push button in the rear view mirror is relayed by the Local Interface Network (LIN) slave node integral to the rear view mirror via the LIN data bus to the BCM, which is a LIN master node. The BCM is also a CAN data bus gateway and relays the push button status information to the radio over the CAN-IHS data bus.
