Coil Spring: Notes

REMOVAL 

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
2. Remove the shock absorber. Refer to SHOCK ABSORBER, SUSPENSION, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
3. Compress the coil spring in a suitable spring compressor.
4. Remove the cap and the spacer.

   4 - Strut Rod Nut

5. Have a helper support the shock absorber from below, then hold the strut rod with a suitable socket. Use (special tool #9362, Wrench, Strut Nut) to remove and DISCARD  the strut rod nut.
6. Remove the shock absorber from the spring and the upper mount.
7. Release the spring compressor and remove the coil spring from the spring compressor.
8. Remove the upper mount and the dust boot from the coil spring.

INSTALLATION 

Follow the removal procedure in reverse for general reassembly of the components on the vehicle.
