O/D Off Switch
NOTE:
For circuit reference, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION and/or WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
NOTE:
O/D OFF switch is also referred to as Mode switch.
- Remove center console to access switch connector. See Fig 1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. With O/D OFF switch released (O/D enabled), measure voltage by backprobing between O/D OFF switch terminal, No. 3, 6, and ground. See Fig 2. Battery voltage should be present on terminal No. 3, and zero volts on terminal No. 6. Depress O/D OFF switch (O/D disabled). Zero voltage should be present on both terminals. If voltage is as specified, switch is functioning correctly. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect O/D OFF switch harness connector. See Fig 2. Check continuity between terminals No. 3 and 6 on switch harness connector. Continuity should exist with switch depressed. If continuity is as specified, switch is okay. Inspect circuits to ground and TCM. Repair as needed. If continuity is not as specified, replace switch. See O/D OFF SWITCH under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
