Throttle Position Sensor

NOTE: For circuit reference, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION and/or WIRING DIAGRAMS .

Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using DVOM, backprobe TP sensor connector terminals No. 1 and 3. See Fig 1. With throttle fully closed, voltage should be .4-.6 volts, and at wide open throttle, voltage should be 4.1-4.3 volts. If voltage is not as specified, replace TP sensor. See appropriate REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE as follows:
