Time Lag Test
- Engine coolant and transaxle fluid must be at proper levels and normal operating temperature. Block wheels, apply parking and service brake firmly. Start engine, and ensure idle in Park is 750-850 RPM. Refer to underhood emissions label.
- Shift from "N" to "D" position while measuring elapsed time until transaxle engages in gear. Run engine with transaxle in Neutral for one minute to cool transaxle. Repeat procedure shifting from "N" to "R" position.
- Repeat 3 times, and average results. See TIME LAG TEST SPECIFICATIONS table. If transaxle engagement time is within specification, see HYDRAULIC PRESSURE TESTS . If transaxle engagement time is not within specification, see TIME LAG TEST RESULTS .
