Power Steering Gear Box: Inspection
- Check rack for cracks or other damage, or for abnormal wear of teeth; replace if necessary.
- Check seal ring part of rack for abnormal wear or damage; replace if necessary.
- Use V blocks to support both ends of large-diameter part of rack; check for excessive bending; replace if necessary.
Bending limit : 0.006 in (0.15 mm) (near rack center)
