Rear Strut Assembly: Reassembly
- Place the strut in a vise.NOTE: Use protective plates to cover jaws of vise.
- Install the lower spring isolator into the spring seat on the part of strut.
- Compress the coil spring gradually with SST (0K2A1 341 AA1A) to prevent it from arching.
- Install the coil spring, placing the bottom of coil into the recess of lower seat.
- Install the dust boot and rebound stopper.
- Install the upper spring isolator and mounting block, aligning the two studs of the mounting block with the lower bracket of the strut.
- Install the piston retaining nut then install and tighten slightly.
- Carefully loosen and remove SST (0K2A1 341 AA1A). NOTE: Verify that the coil spring is correctly seated in the mounting block and the lower spring seat.
- Secure the mounting block in a vise.
- Tighten the piston retaining nut to specified torque.
Tightening torque: 66~87 lb.ft (89~117 N.m 9.1~11.9 kg.m)
- Install the dust cap over the nut.
