Hydraulic Fluid Bleeding
The clutch hydraulic system must be bled to remove air when ever the lines are disconnected.
NOTE:
- The fluid in the brake reserve tank must be maintained at the 3/4 level or higher during air bleeding.
- Use only the specified fluid type.
- Be careful not to spill clutch brake fluid onto a painted surface.
- Raise vehicle and support it with safety stands.
- Remove driver side gravel shield from under engine (seven bolts).
- Remove bleeder screw cap and attach a hose to bleeder screw.
- Place the other end of hose in a glass container of sufficient capacity.
- Slowly pump clutch pedal several times.
- While clutch pedal is depressed, loosen bleeder screw and let fluid and air escape.
- Close bleeder screw before raising clutch pedal.
- Repeat steps 5 through 6 until no more air bubbles are in the escaping fluid.
- Check for correct clutch operation.
- Install bleeder cap.
- Install driver side gravel shield under engine. Install and then tighten seven gravel shield bolts.
- Lower vehicle.
