Component Inspection
Check Engine Coolant Level and ECT Sensor
- Check engine coolant level.
- If engine coolant level is improper, fill up the coolant and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
- If engine coolant level is proper, remove and check ECT sensor.
- Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 3 of the ECT sensor harness connector B-15.
- Specification:TEMPERATURE RESISTANCE REFERENCE CHART

- Specification:
- Is ECT sensor normal?
YES
- Go to "Check Thermostat" procedure.
NO
- Test with new ECT sensor and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace old ECT sensor.
- Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
Check Thermostat
- IG KEY: OFF, Engine: OFF
- Remove thermostat.
- Check that thermostat was stuck or damaged.
- Check that thermostat is operated normally.
- Is thermostat normal?
YES
- Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
NO
- Replace thermostat and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
