Check Engine Coolant Level and ECT Sensor

  1. Check engine coolant level.
  2. If engine coolant level is improper, fill up the coolant and go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.
  3. If engine coolant level is proper, remove and check ECT sensor.
  4. Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 3 of the ECT sensor harness connector B-15.

  5. Is ECT sensor normal?

    YES

    1. Go to "Check Thermostat" procedure.

    NO

    1. Test with new ECT sensor and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace old ECT sensor.
    2. Go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

Check Thermostat

  1. IG KEY: OFF, Engine: OFF
  2. Remove thermostat.
  3. Check that thermostat was stuck or damaged.
  4. Check that thermostat is operated normally.
