Steering Column & Shaft: Installation

Before installation, apply multipurpose grease to the groove inside the bearing and contracting surfaces of the boot and cover assembly.
Install the steering column and shaft.

Tightening torque : 12.7-17.7 N.m (1.3-1.8 kg.m, 9.4-13 lb.ft)
Install the wheel joint assembly.

Tightening torque : 14.7-19.6 N.m (1.5-2.0 kg.m, 10.8-14.5 lb.ft)
Install the coupling and universal joint.
Install and tighten coupling bolts.

Install the multifuction switch and connect the connectors.

Install the steering column upper and lower shroud and lower cover.

Install the steering wheel.

Tightening torque : 39.2-49 N.m (4-5 kg.m, 28.9-36.2 lb.ft)
Install the air bag module.

Tightening torque : 7.8-10.8 N.m (0.8-1.1 kg.m, 5.8-8 lb.ft)
Reconnect battery cable, and reset radio.
