SERVICE INFORMATION
This bulletin provides the procedure to install an Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) relay block on the Process Control Box (PCB) - Fuse/Junction Box of certain 2006-2010MY Sedona (VQ) vehicles and certain 2007-2009MY Sorento (BL) vehicles (refer to page 8/8 for production dates). When the vehicle is in the key OFF position and parked, the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU) remains energized. If moisture enters the HECU, an electrical short circuit could occur even though the vehicle is turned off and parked. An electrical short circuit inside the HECU may increase the risk of an engine compartment key OFF fire. Before conducting the procedure, verify that the vehicle is included in the list of affected VINs.
Installation Procedure: Sedona (VQ) page 2 - Sorento (BL) page 4.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR SEDONA (VQ)
-
- Open hood and disconnect the battery Negative (-) cable (A).
- Remove the junction box cover (B).
- Remove the following three (3) fuses from the junction box (C):
- ECU 10A
- ABS 20A
- ABS 40A
- Install the relay block (D) to the junction box (C). Be sure to align the bottom connections to the removed fuses on the junction box.
