DTC Information: DTC Detecting Condition

Item Detecting Condition Possible Cause
DTC Strategy
  • Monitor short to ground, to battery or open circuit
  1. Poor connection
  2. Open in Power circuit to cooling fan module
  3. Open or short in control circuit to ECM
  4. Faulty Fan Relay
  5. Faulty cooling fan module
  6. Faulty PCM
Enable Conditions
  • No disabling Faults Present
  • Engine Running
  • 11V ≤ Ignition Voltage ≤ 16V
Threshold Value
  • Open or short on Fan Circuit
Diagnostic Time
  • Continuous (More than 5 second failure for every 10 seconds)
MIL ON Condition
  • 3 drive cycles
