SERVICE INFORMATION

Kia is introducing the upcoming Kia Smart Battery Tester. The Smart Battery Tester is a lightweight, easy to use tool with immediate feedback. The Smart Battery Tester provides a portable and speedy real time solution to support the PDI process, vehicle battery diagnostics, inventory maintenance, and express lane service, among other capabilities.

The Smart Battery Tester is the most capable, affordable, and user-friendly professional battery tester and leverages the power of smart phones, tablets, and the internet.

The Kia Smart Battery Tester will be introduced as an essential tool with a minimum of two (2) Smart Battery testers per dealer beginning mid-May. The User's Guide and information regarding use of the Kia Smart Battery Tester will be available on TSB SST057,  at the time of Kia Smart Battery Tester launch.

KIA SMART BATTERY TESTER BENEFITS

• The Smart Battery Tester is simple and easy with no buttons to push.
• Very fast test routine, accompanied by VIN barcode scanning provides:
  • Quick and error free battery testing for use on the lot or in the service lane
  • User-friendly for everyone at the dealership (lot porter, service advisor, technician, sales consultant, etc.)
  • Accurate selection of vehicle and battery specifications
• B2Q App can be installed on KDS, KVID, CVIS, Android or Apple devices/phones.
• Updates will occur via device app updates; no cumbersome updates with serial data cables and/or internet consuming time to update.
• The tester can work without Wi-Fi in off-site storage lots; all files will synchronize once the smart device/tablets are in range of Wi Fi.
• The Kia Smart Battery tester is able to print results to B2Q compatible Bluetooth® printers, network printers or the results can be e-mailed.
• Web portal access will be available through kdealer.com to monitor dealership personnel battery test activity.

Easy to Use 

1. Connect the Kia Smart Battery Tester clamps to the battery.
2. Using the (free) B2Q Scan app on an iOS or Android device, scan the QR Code on the Smart Battery Tester.
3. View the test results and recommendations on the app. Save, print, or share the results.

The Kia Smart Battery Tester will be introduced as an essential tool with 2 Kia Smart Battery testers per dealer beginning mid-May. Additional Smart Battery Testers and optional Bluetooth  ® printers are available for purchase through Snap-on Business Solutions.
