Monitor Scantool Data

  1. Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).
  2. Check DTCs detected on scantool.
  3. After clearing DTC C1603, wait for about 20 ~30 minutes with not steering.

    * Even though DTC C1603 is eliminated, it takes about 20~30 minutes that a steering force gets back to normal.

  4. Is the current DTC detected again?

    YES 

    • If this DTC happens again after about 20~30 minutes, substitute with a known-good steering column & EPS unit assembly check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace steering column & EPS unit assembly and then go to "VERIFICATION OF VEHICLE REPAIR " procedure.

    NO 

    • It is a temporary limitation of operation by an excessive use. The EPS CM is normal.
