Component Inspection

■ Inhibitor Switch Inspection 

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Disconnect safety plug from the main battery (Wait for 15 minutes after OFF).
  3. Disconnect Inhibitor Switch harness connector.
  4. Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Power) and Pin No. 8 (P position) terminals of Inhibitor Switch. (P range position status)
  5. Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Power) and Pin No. 4 (R position) terminals of Inhibitor Switch. (R range position status)
  6. Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Power) and Pin No. 7 (N position) terminals of Inhibitor Switch. (N range position status)
  7. Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Power) and Pin No. 10 (D position) terminals of Inhibitor Switch. (D range position status)
  8. Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Power) and Pin No. 6 (B position) terminals of Inhibitor Switch. (B range position status)

    Specification:  Approx. 1 Ω below

  9. Is the measured resistance within specifications?

    YES 

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • Problem still occurs, replace, Inhibitor Switch and then go to, "Verification Of Repair" procedure.
