Component Inspection

  1. Ignition "OFF".
  2. Connect VMI to KDS/GDS and select "Oscilloscope".
  3. Connect CH A (+) probe to power terminal (Pin No. 1) of Battery sensor connector.
  4. Connect CH A (-) probe to temperature terminal (Pin No. 4) of Battery sensor connector.
  5. Connect CH B (+) probe to current terminal (Pin No. 3) of Battery sensor connector.
  6. Connect CH B (-) probe to ground terminal (Pin No. 2) of Battery sensor connector.

    Specification:  Refer to SIGNAL WAVEFORM & Data

  7. Does the Battery sensor operate properly?

    YES 

    NO 

    • Carefully re-do this troubleshooting guide steps.
    • If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, replace the Battery sensor and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair " procedure.
