Repair Procedures: Removal: Notes
- Release the residual pressure in fuel line.
(Refer to "RELEASE RESIDUAL PRESSURE IN FUEL LINE ")
- Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
- Remove the second row seat.
(Refer to "REAR SEAT ")
- Remove the rear seat LH air duct (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.
- Remove the seat cable bracket (A) after loosening the mounting nuts.
- Remove the fuel pump service cover (A) after loosening the mounting screws.
- Disconnect the fuel feed tube quick-connector (A), fuel pressure sensor connector (B), fuel pump control module (C) and fuel tank pressure sensor connector (D).
- Lift the vehicle.
- Remove the parking brake cable (A) after loosening the mounting bolt.
- Remove the Propeller Shaft Assembly. [With 4WD vehicle]

- Remove the coupling assembly. [With 4WD vehicle]
(Refer to "COUPLING ASSEMBLY ")
- Remove the main muffler.
(Refer to "MUFFLER ")
- Remove the fuel tank protector (A) after loosening the mounting screws.
- Support the fuel tank with a jack.
- Disconnect the fuel filler hose (A), and the ventilation tube quick-connector (B).
- Disconnect the ventilation tube quick-connector (A), and the vapor tube quick-connector (B).
- Remove the fuel tank band (A), and then remove the fuel tank (B) after loosening the mounting bolts.
Fuel tank band mounting bolt:
39.2 ~ 54.0 N.m (4.0 ~ 5.5 kgf.m, 28.9 ~ 39.8 lb-ft)
NOTE:
Do not reuse any used fuel tank band mounting bolts. Always use new ones.
