Repair Procedures: Removal: Notes

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
  2. Remove the air duct.

    (Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  3. Separate the filler neck (A) from the radiator upper member assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  4. Separate the radiator reservoir pipe (A) from the radiator upper member assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  5. Remove the hood lower latch.

    (Refer to Body - "HOOD LATCH ")

  6. Remove the front bumper cover.

    (Refer to Body - "FRONT BUMPER COVER ")

  7. Remove the headlamps.

    (Refer to Body Electrical System - "HEAD LAMPS ")

  8. Remove the radiator upper member assembly (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    6.9 - 10.8 N.m (0.7 - 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 - 8.0 lb.ft)

  9. Disconnect the cooling fan controller (PWM) connector (A).

  10. Remove the cooling fan (A) from the vehicle.

    Tightening torque: 

    4.9 - 7.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.8 kgf.m, 3.6 - 5.8 lb.ft)

  11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
