Water Temperature Control Assembly
- Remove the engine cover.
(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE COVER ")
- Remove the air duct.
(Refer to Intake And Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the battery.
(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "BATTERY ")
- Remove the air cleaner assembly.
(Refer to Intake And Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")
- Remove the engine front under cover.
(Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")
- Drain the engine coolant.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
- Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).
- Disconnect the radiator lower hose (A).
- Disconnect the water temperature sensor connector (A).
- Disconnect the control wiring harness connectors and fasteners and remove the wiring harness protectors from the water temperature control assembly.
- Disconnect the throttle body coolant hoses (A).
- Disconnect the heater inlet hose (A).
- Disconnect the ATF warmer hose (A).
- Remove the water temperature control assembly (A).
Tightening torque :
19.6 - 23.5 N.m (2.0 - 2.4 kgf., 14.5 - 17.4 lb.ft)
- Remove the water temperature control assembly gasket (A).

- Install in the reverse order of removal.
- Fill the radiator with coolant and check for leaks.
(Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")
NOTE:- Refill engine coolant.
- Refill radiator and reservoir tank with engine coolant.
- Bleed air from the cooling system.
- Start the engine and let it run until it warms up until the radiator fan operates 3 to 4 times).
- Turn off the engine. Check the level in the radiator, and add coolant if needed. This will release trapped air from the cooling system.
- Put radiator cap on tightly, then run the engine again and check for leaks.
- Before assembling the water temperature control assembly, clean the battery posts and cable terminals with sandpaper and grease the o-ring to prevent corrosion.
