Repair Procedures: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal, and wait for at least three minutes before beginning to work.
  2. Remove the glove box assembly.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "GLOVE BOX HOUSING ")

  3. Remove the PAB mounting bolts.

    Tightening Torque: 

    8.8 - 10.8 N.m (0.9 - 1.1 kgf.m, 6.5 - 8.0 lb-ft)

  4. Disconnect the passenger airbag connector (A).

  5. Remove the main crash pad.

    (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior) - "MAIN CRASH PAD ASSEMBLY ")

    NOTE: If the PAB has been deployed, replace the damaged crash pad.
  6. Loosen the Passenger airbag module mounting bolts (2) Remove the passenger airbag module.

    Tightening Torque: 

    3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.8 - 4. 3 lb-ft)

CAUTION: Remove the air bag modules are placed so that the airbag cover side facing up
