Repair Procedures: Replacement

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal from the trunk.
  2. Remove the engine room front under cover.

    (Refer to Engine and Transmission Assembly - "ENGINE ROOM UNDER COVER ")

  3. Drain the engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  4. Remove the air cleaner assembly.

    (Refer to Intake And Exhaust System - "AIR CLEANER ")

  5. Disconnect the reservoir hose (A).

  6. Remove the cooling fan assembly.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLING FAN ")

  7. Disconnect the radiator upper hose (A).

  8. Disconnect the radiator lower hose (A).

  9. Remove the air cleaner adapter (A).

  10. Disconnect the wiring (A).

  11. Remove the radiator upper bracket (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb.ft)

  12. Remove the air con condenser mounting bolts (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    4.9 - 7.8 N.m (0.5 - 0.8 kgf.m, 3.6 - 5.8 lb.ft, 43.4 - 69.4 lb.in)

  13. Remove the radiator assembly (A) from the vehicle.

  14. Install in the reverse order of removal.
  15. Fill with engine coolant.

    (Refer to Cooling System - "COOLANT ")

  16. Start engine and check for leaks
  17. Recheck engine coolant level.
