Section 85 (Audio/Video/Navigation (AVN) System): Troubleshooting: Camera

    Inspection Description

    1. Camera system features
      1. Change to H/U camera mode at gear R
      2. Steering wheel feature with CAN enabled Camera
      3. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) feature added to CAN enabled camera
      4. Video Format - current: Analog/YG, HI: LVDS applied (New)
      5. Camera power ON (below 35~40km/h, 2015 Q4)
    2. AVM system features
      1. Change to H/U Rear view camera and AVM display at gear R
      2. On gear D, Rear view → Front view change at speed below 10km/h (AVM is ON)
      3. On gear D, Navigation mode change at speed above 10km/h (AVM is ON)
      4. Video format: CVBS, S-VIDEO, Component, LVDS
    (2) Misdiagnose cases
    1. Camera misdiagnose cases
      1. Video quality: Rear view camera have low quality spec (0.3 megapixel), dirt on lens
      2. Bumper showing too much: Camera angle
      3. Blinks on start of ignition: Black curtain process for AVN boot spec
      4. Parking guideline length: Camera location
      5. Blue screen: Possible camera output defect from AVN, AVM (Possible connector, cable defect)
    2. AVM misdiagnose cases
      1. Top view distortion: In-line correction error. Re-correction fixes issue
      2. Broken image pixel: Incomplete correction due to power OFF during correction process
      3. Camera screen defect (Top/Front/Rear/Left/Right): Possible camera defect
  2. Camera issue (Black screen/Blue screen/Noise/Broken)

    • If issue duplicates, follow steps below

    • Wiring
    *If AVM is installed, also test side doors
    1. Camera connection

      1. Remove trunk cover and find camera connector
      2. Connection must be locked in

        → Check display

    2. Check camera damage

      1. Remove any dirt on lens
      2. Damage on lens, cracks → Moist inside camera
      • Fault by customer if camera is physically damaged from outside
    3. Check camera voltage at gear R

      1. Red line: 6.5V, Black line: GND
      2. If there is no 6.5V input follow below steps

        (1) Cable (2) Power module

      3. Camera power source

        (1) AVN Direct: AVN → Camera

        (2) AVM: AVM → Camera

      *If other monitor is not available, replace camera instead

      1. Use other monitor to test video input
      2. Yellow line: CVBS video, White: Video GND
        1. Monitor /AVN X → AVN defect
        2. Monitor X/AVN X → Camera defect
      3. 5. Check camera ↔ AVN wiring

        2. For Pin contact testing, include cable company if available
        • Short on wire is common due to driving impact
  3. Display issue (Display quality/Foggy/Foreign object)

    • Lens assembly error caused lens move inside camera → Camera can be foggy

    2. Check if vehicle direction and guideline is match
    • For safety, guideline appears +10cm wider (left/right) than actual vehicle
    (2) Search & remove defect factor
    • Confirm specs
    • Camera connection

    1. Confirm specs

      (Normal: Vehicle ↔ guideline within +,-15cm)

    2. Camera connection
      • Check camera bracket
      • Check screw status
      • Re-connect the screw and re-test
    • Reason for 15cm deviation: 1. Camera setting deviation 2. Guideline width (Actual area 10cm)

    • Above issues can be treated with re-correction process

    1. Inspect AVM VOUT_C
      1. Check vehicle spec (S-VIDEO, Component)

        Check with related department with vehicle spec

      2. Luminance (Y)+Color (C)=Video/Black screen if color signal is not available

        *Component: Use 2 C signals (Cb, Cr)

    2. Check AVM connector
      1. Connector connection (Must be locked)
      2. Check tension on Vehicle female connector

        VOUT_C (A10) tension (2.5 )
